UPDATE: Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man in his 50s died when the driver of a semi-truck backed the cab up to a trailer to connect it in the Maxwell House parking lot.
This happened around 11:35 Tuesday morning in the parking lot of Maxwell House Coffee at 735 East Bay Street. The man and a woman were there as contractors, and not employees of Maxwell House. JSO said they were there to pick up a trailer with Freightliner.
Sky4 flew over the scene, showing several semi-truck trailers, a taped off area , and two JSO cruisers. Police said the female driver was backing up to pick up the trailer, and the victim was standing outside to help her when the accident happened.Copyright 2022 by WJXT News4JAX - All rights reserved.
