The National Weather Service reported 17 people died across the U.S. in 2020 after being struck by lightning.
Accuweather cited a report from the National Weather Service , confirming a man died on Wednesday after being struck at around 3.45 p.m. EDT.later revealed the man, who hasn't been identified, was playing golf at the Burlington Country Club in Westampton Township.
The site claimed officials revealed the man was struck between the sixth and seventh hole, as a storm passed through the area., leading them to believe he was seeking shelter under it., captioned:"Just a couple of hours after posting this, the first person died by lightning strike." The author, Matthew Cappucci, took to Twitter in defense of the piece, saying:"Check the publishing time. I ended by saying this wasn't going to last."
