SAN ANTONIO - A man was shot dead after allegedly pulling a weapon on officers during a foot chase following a traffic stop. The deadly shooting happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday along Colima Street and Guadalupe Ybarra, near Brackenridge Academy. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said the officers pulled over a vehicle with two people inside for a traffic violation. Both people inside the car jumped out and ran.
During the foot chase, one of the men pulled out a weapon and turned toward the two officers, who then both fired their weapons. The man was hit by gunfire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.No officers were injured. The two officers have 15 and four years experience with the department.
