The department said officers were called to the area of 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street around 8:35 p.m. on Sunday due to a crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been hit. He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, police said. The investigation into what happened is still underway.
