A 66-year-old Canton man was killed in the hit-and-run Monday, police say.

CANTON, Ohio — A vehicle took off after it struck and killed a 66-year-old man who was using a wheelchair to travel along a street near downtown, according to police.. Horace Jones, a Canton resident, was taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital after he was struck at about 8:07 p.m. Monday but he died of his injuries, police say.
Jones was traveling south in the northbound lanes on the 1000 block of Market Avenue North when he was hit by the vehicle, police say. The driver left the scene in the vehicle, which was later recovered by police.The Stark County Coroner’s Office has been unable to locate any relatives of the victim. Anyone with information can contact the coroner’s office at 330-451-1366.
