Armed police have been called to a street in Merseyside amid reports that a man was attacked with a machete.
Specialist firearms officers were called to Eaton Street, in Prescot, around 10.25am this morning after hearing reports that a man had been assaulted. They then arrived at the scene to find a man, in his 40s, had been attacked with a long-bladed knife.Officers are still investigating the ‘targeted and isolated’ incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
‘If you did see or hear anything, or were passing by Eaton Street and Hope Street and have CCTV or dashcam, come forward and we will take positive action to identify those responsible. ‘Knife crime has no place in our communities and by coming together, we can make our communities stronger, and remove criminals and their dangerous weapons from the streets.’
