HPD officers said they were responding to an assault call when they were met by the alleged suspect who said the woman inside the hotel room needed help.
The suspect was reportedly outside the hotel where the murder happened and confessed to police on the spot, HPD saidA man has been charged with murder after confessing to killing the woman he was in a relationship with in a motel room Wednesday evening, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD received the call shortly around 6:15 p.m. of an assault at Moonlight Inn at 5212 Airline Drive. They said that when officers arrived, Myron Lynn Strambler, 36, was outside and that a woman inside one of the rooms needed assistance. Investigators said when they entered, the motel room was in disarray, and they found Alicia Michele Strambler, 34, on the bathroom floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.
Charging documents state the suspect hit the victim with a deadly weapon, his hand and then hit her head into a wall According to police, the 36-year-old suspect confessed to the homicide. Records show he is currently behind bars at the Harris County Jail.The suspect's record also shows he has an extensive criminal record that includes a conviction for assault of a family member back in 2021. He also pled guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a child in 2009 and served more than four years in prison for that crime.Houston makes the nice list of top 5 most festive U.S.
