A man was critically injured in a shooting Thursday morning at a Southside hotel, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they responded to the hotel on Cagle Road, near University Boulevard West, around 10:30 a.m. after getting reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head.JFRD transported the man to a local hospital, and as of 2:40 p.m., he remained in critical condition, police said.
