A 72-year-old man shot and killed another driver during a road rage incident in Orinda, California. Although the victim was unarmed, he was punching the older man through the open window of his car. Authorities investigate at the scene of an afternoon fatal shooting in the area of Las Vegas Road in Orinda, Calif on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024. (Karl Mondon/ Bay Area News Group staff)ORINDA — A man in his 70s who shot and killed another driver during a violent road rage incident won’t face criminal charges, the Contra Costa District Attorney’s office has determined.

The entire physical confrontation, as well as the shooting, was captured on surveillance footage, authorities said. The Contra Costa Sheriff’s office investigated the shooting and recommended prosecutors not file criminal charges, according to court records.
