An off-duty Von Ormy police officer, who was working security, was hit by a car outside Cowboys Dancehall Monday morning, police say.A 31-year-old man accused of hitting an off-duty police officer with his vehicle during an altercation at Cowboys Dancehall early Monday was arrested after fleeing the location, according to San Antonio police.
According to police, the security guard was attempting to detain a woman who allegedly assaulted a Cowboys staff member when a man, authorities believe to be the woman's significant other, hit the security guard with his vehicle, pinning him between two cars. The driver fled the scene but drove off the Austin Highway Bridge and crashed into Salado Creek, where he was arrested.
