It later transpired that the white Mercedes-Benz he left behind before fleeing on foot had been reported stolen from a Benoni golf course, according to Johannesburg Metro Police Department spokesperson Xolani Fihla. "It's alleged that the male driver of the vehicle came to the filling station on Monday morning at about 00:15, and filled the vehicle with fuel worth R1 242.05. When he attempted to ... swipe the card [to pay for the petrol], it [was] declined," Fihla said."An argument between the driver and petrol attendants ensued," he said.
The man attempted to race off, but knocked over the two petrol attendants in the process, Fihla added."It was further discovered that the vehicle was allegedly stolen by a caddy at a golf course in Benoni who got a hold of the vehicle's keys from the caddy bag and took the vehicle without the owner's consent," Fihla said.We live in a world where facts and fiction get blurred
