On Thursday, a Bexar County judge sentenced Darrick Oliver to two concurrent life sentences for the 2022 murders of Justin Huchinson and Alaina Henderson. SAN ANTONIO - On Thursday, a Bexar County judge sentenced Darrick Oliver to two concurrent life sentences for the 2022 murders of Justin Huchinson and Alaina Henderson.
According to prosecutors, the shootings occurred in September 2022 at Rose Bistro, a bar in Hollywood Park. Authorities said Oliver became involved in an argument with two bystanders that escalated when he pulled out a handgun and fired at close range. Huchinson was shot in the face and died at the scene. A second man was also shot in the face and hand and was transported to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Henderson, who was outside the restaurant at the time, was struck by a bullet. Prosecutors said she had recently graduated from law school and was visiting San Antonio to celebrate a new job opportunity. She later died in a hospital from her injuries. Investigators said Oliver fled before Hollywood Park police arrived. He reportedly went to his girlfriend’s home to dispose of evidence and change his appearance before traveling to his grandfather’s home in Waco.Several days later, deputies with the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office located Oliver and took him into custody.
