An investigation is underway after a man was found fatally shot on an east Birmingham street.
Carol Robinson | [email protected] Precinct officers were dispatched at 12:30 a.m. Monday to a report of a person down, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
When police arrived in the 300 block of 74th Street North, they found the adult male unresponsive. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:40 a.m. by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service.The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim. The man is Birmingham’s 18th homicide so far this year. Of those, one has been ruled justifiable and therefore is not deemed criminal.Anyone with information is asked to call homicide detectives at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
