A man in his 40s was found dead in San Diego's Colina Del Sol neighborhood Monday morning, hours after police received a report of a fight in the area. Homicide detectives are investigating the death.
A man in his 40s was found dead Monday morning in the stairwell of an apartment complex in San Diego's Colina Del Sol neighborhood. Police responded to a call around 8:32 a.m. about a man who appeared to be unconscious in the stairwell of the Courtyard Terrace Apartment Homes complex. When officers arrived, paramedics confirmed that the man had died. Officers initially responded to a report of a fight in the area Sunday evening, but found no evidence of a fight or victims at that time.
Homicide detectives later determined that the deceased man matched the description of one of the individuals involved in the Sunday evening altercation. The exact cause of death is pending an investigation by the San Diego County Office of Medical Examiner. His name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
