A man who was fighting in the street went on to twist a cop’s arm as they tried to arrest him.
William Rothnie, 31, and another man were arguing on Glasgow's Victoria Road on the night of September 13, 2022.Members of the public witnessed the fight and contacted the police.
His lawyer said: “He was approached by four individuals including the co-accused. At the outset, he intended to walk away, but the assault was initiated by the co-accused, and he accepts after he engaged in a fight. “There was a warning in the early stages but since then he’s been making very good progress. It will concern you that this offence took place during the order.
Sheriff Amel Elfallah told Rothnie: “Your behaviour alarmed the public to the extent the police were called. Then you assaulted a police officer and made an unacceptable remark.
