The victim was on a platform with a woman when he got into an argument with a man in his 30s or 40s.
It happened around 5:47 p.m. on the 800 block of Market Street, where the 22-year-old man was stabbed twice in the chest.
“He got into an argument with a male on the platform of the Market Frankford Line. Not sure if the stabbing took place on the platform or the stairway leading to street level, but that’s where we found the trail of blood,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said to 6ABC., police have released a photo of the suspect.
From what police say they’ve seen on the surveillance video, the suspect looks familiar and possibly uses the station frequently, according to 6ABC. “The timing does shock me cause that time of day you think you would be safe. Stuff like this happens later at night,” commuter Erik Parker said to 6ABC.
