Suspect on bicycle unable to escape police after allegedly killing man outside gas station
Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies investigate a fatal shooting at a gas station just off of Highway 249 on July 15, 2022.A man was shot and killed late Friday during an argument outside a Montgomery County gas station, according to authorities.
Deputies responded to the shooting around 11:45 p.m. at the Mike's Grocery gas station on the 32000 block of Highway 249 and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Montgomery County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Scott Spencer. The victim died at the scene. Witnesses told investigators two men got into a verbal argument just outside the store that escalated when one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times, Spencer said.The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle but deputies detained him down the street from the gas station, Spencer added.
The victim was not been identified at this time pending the notification of the next of kin, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
