Warner Portis, 39, is accused of shooting a motorist after a crash in Oak Lawn, according to a KDFW-TV report.A man is facing an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge after he was arrested following a shooting early Sunday in Oak Lawn, according to a KDFW-TV Warner Portis is accused of shooting a man following a minor crash in the Oak Lawn neighborhood near Congress Avenue, the news station reported. The victim is reportedly stable.
Portis, 39, was at the Dallas County jail Sunday evening, but was no longer listed Monday, according to online jail records. His bail was set at $50,000. It is unclear if he has an attorney.that the victim was struck four times by gunfire — twice in the chest — according to an arrest warrant affidavit. Portis told police that he was scared for his life and thought that the person who rear-ended his car had a firearm, but no guns were found in the victim’s vehicle, according to the report.
Police said they do not believe Portis and the victim, whose name has not been released, knew each other before the encounter.. Hojun Choi covers breaking news.
