He was flying from London Stansted to Pisa in Italy last night when he received a text message confirming a positive test result
The flight took off nearly two hours behind schedule as the man’s seat and overhead bag carrier needed to be disinfected.‘They were both wearing masks at all times at Stansted Airport,’ the airline said.
‘There was little if any risk of coronavirus transmission to other passengers or crew members as all of whom were also wearing face masks at all times.’supports HTML5 videoThe Department of Health also warns anyone who has gotten a coronavirus test must self-isolate until the result comes back. A passenger on board the plane posted to social media: ‘The face when you are about to take off and someone gets a text from track and trace.’ Stansted airport said: ‘The airport were made aware of the passenger by the airline and our fire service attended the aircraft and escorted the passenger to an isolation area where they were put in contact with Public Health England, who then oversaw the passenger’s onward journey.’
