Updated: 30 minutes agoA paraglider crashed in the Eagle River Valley area Sunday afternoon and died, Alaska State Troopers said.
A person was photographing 33-year-old Joshua Randich, of Girdwood, when they lost sight of him and called for help around 1:45 p.m., troopers. The caller and other people nearby responded to an area near Mount Magnificent within 15 minutes and initiated CPR on Randich, troopers said. An Alaska Air National Guard Pave Hawk helicopter responded to the area to transport Randich to an Anchorage hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to troopers.
Randich’s next of kin were notified of his death and his body was sent to the State Medical Examiner Office for autopsy, troopers said.This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
