Jeep crashes after crossing median on Highway 6, 1 dead, Houston police say
On Scene TVA man died early Sunday after the Jeep he was riding in crossed the median on Highway 6 in west Houston and crashed, police said.
The Jeep drove across the median in the 1100 block of Highway 6 and crashed head on into a Mercedes-Benz that was driving south, Houston Police Lt. J.P. Horelica told OnScene TV reporters. Police received the call around 1:51 a.m. Inside the Jeep, officers found one man, one woman, a teenager and a child. The man was pronounced dead on the scene by the Houston Fire Department, Horelica said.The other three occupants were taken to a local hospital, along with the driver of the Mercedes.
Officials are unsure why the Jeep crossed over the median, Horelica said. Police did not comment on which individual was driving the car at the time.
