KOTA KINABALU: A mentally unstable man in his 30s died after falling from the fourth floor of a unit of flats in Telipok Ria at 7am on Tuesday (May 12).
The Filipino man was said to have been telling his relatives that he could no longer stand the voices in his head, as they were noisy and always wanted to talk to him, said Tuaran OCPD Deputy Supt Mohd Hamizi Halim.
It is also learnt that the victim was recently discharged from Hospital Mesra Bukit Padang where he was receiving treatment for his mental health, he added. The victim was discharged from the hospital on April 23 but he had refused to take medicines prescribed since then.In an unrelated incident, an undocumented man was nabbed for allegedly stealing items from a furniture shop near his house at Kg Tobur in Menggatal on Sunday .
Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Habibi Majinji said the 50-year-old man was nabbed at about 5.20pm, not long after the theft allegedly took place.He said items such as an aluminium and wood cutting machine, a fan, a drill and compressors were recovered from the suspect’s house.
