A 37-year-old man died after being found unconscious and floating in a pool at a spa in Niles, police said.
A 37-year-old Minnesota man died Monday, Nov. 6, after being found unconscious in a spa pool in Niles, according to Sgt. Dan Borkowski of the Niles Police Department. Just before 9:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to a 911 call at King Spa, 809 Civic Center Drive, to assist on an ambulance call for a man found unconscious and not breathing, they said. King Spa is located just east of the Home Depot store at the southeast corner of Oakton Street and Waukegan Road.
An initial investigation revealed the man was found floating in the pool unconscious and was pulled out of the pool by bystanders, who attempted to perform lifesaving measures, according to police. The patient was treated by paramedics and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, according to police, who said foul play is not suspected. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Timothy Bartlett of the 200 block of 21st Street, Austin, Minnesota.
