IMPD said the victim was being treated at Methodist Hospital Monday.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after its officers were involved in a police shooting Tuesday morning that left one man critically injured.

Wolley said detectives found a handgun at the scene, near where the suspect was found. He added that detectives didn't find any evidence of another person shot other than the suspect. W Vermont Street between Lynhurst and Cossell Dr will be closed for some time.Wolley said detectives found a note inside of the home saying that the suspect planned to take his own life.

IMPD Critical Incident responded to the scene to conduct a criminal investigation. A separate investigation is being conducted by IMPD Internal Affairs.
