Man convicted of killing ex’s new boyfriend, hiding body in grass clippings

He shot the man twice after a fight, authorities said.

Brandon Dennis, 32, of Vineland was found guilty of second-degree passion provocation manslaughter, second-degree desecration of human remains, third-degree burglary, third-degree hindering, fourth-degree criminal mischief and multiple weapons-related offenses, according to a release from the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.

Dennis came to a home on Oct. 23, 2021, stood outside and demanded that a woman he previously had a relationship with tell him who was with her in the house, investigators said. When she refused, Dennis broke a window and kicked in the front door, authorities said. Patrick Trotter, 32, of Penns Grove, described in court documents as the woman’s new boyfriend, was inside and the men fought.He dragged Trotter’s body into a wooded area behind the house and concealed him with grass clipping and other material nearby, the release stated.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
