Edward Berbon, 54, disappeared from a work detail in Mount Laurel just months before he was eligible for release, according to police.

Edward Berbon, 54, who was nearing the end of his mandatory minimum term, was assigned to a halfway house when he disappeared from a work detail in Mount Laurel, according to local police. Just hours after being released from prison in July 2004, Berbon went to his parents’ home in Hamilton Township, Mercer County and attacked them, according to police at the time.
Berbon’s scheduled release date on the attempted murder conviction was Feb. 12, 2024, according to the DOC website.
