Manchester City have submitted their squad to the Premier Legaue after the close of the summer transfer window
Manchester City have submitted their official squad list for the first half of the Premier League campaign.
Pep Guardiola has named 20 players for use that includes summer signings Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes. Three of those four have already made their debuts for the club, while Nunes was an unused substitute against Fulham and will look to get some game time after the international break. Each club is allowed to submit a maximum of 17 players that are not home-grown and a further eight that do fall into that category - registered at an English or Welsh club for three continuous years before they turn 21. Players who are classed as Under-21, including Rico Lewis, Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol, are able to be included in addition to this.
City have not named as big a squad as is allowed owing to the small nature of their group. Guardiola prefers to work with a small group of players and James McAtee and Cole Palmer were among the raft of players that left in the summer transfer window.Because of this, there are no notable absentees in the squad - Zack Steffen, out of favour and with a long-term injury, makes it despite missing out on the Champions League squad.
FULL SQUAD: Carson*, Ortega, Ederson, Steffen, Ake, Akanji, Dias, Gomez, Stones*, Walker*, De Bruyne, Foden*, Rodri, Kovacic, Silva, Nunes, Phillips*, Alvarez, Grealish*, Haaland.
