Rodri could face a ban for Manchester City after UEFA opened disciplinary proceedings against him for an inflammatory chant following Spain’s European Championships victory.the likelihood is the 28-year-old will miss Spain’s international fixtures in September if he receives a ban.
Rodri and Alvaro Morata were spotted singing “Gibraltar is Spanish” after their country’s 2-1 victory over England, with the FA lodging a formal complaint to UEFA. The pair were then charged by the governing body, whose disciplinary panel hold the power to hand out suspensions for both club and country.

“If he is banned, I think the likelihood is it will probably be for the first couple of Spanish games in the internationals that are coming up in September.“I think from a City perspective, they clearly don’t want to be without Rodri because he’s completely critical.“But I guess the flip side of that is if he’s rested for a couple of games, then at least it takes some of the burden off him.
