The baby boy was found unresponsive at a property in Melbourne's west.
Paramedics were called to reports of an unresponsive child at a Werribee home around 4am on January 19.
The boy was taken to hospital, where he was assessed as having "significant assault-related injuries", according to police.Homicide detectives have charged a man with murder after the death of a baby boy in Melbourne. A 29-year-old Hillside man, who police have said was known to the child but was not his biological father, has today been charged with murder and child homicide.
