Christopher Morelli, the man charged with the murder of West Belfast mum Hollie Thompson, has died suddenly
Christopher Morelli, 31, had been charged with the murder of the 28-year-old Hollie Thompson after she was found dead at her home on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
Morelli was granted bail at a hearing on November 4, and was bailed to an address in Hillsborough, Co Down, where he was found dead on Monday, March 6. Read more: Hollie Thomson death: Chris Morelli appears in court charged with 28-year-old's murder in West BelfastDuring a court appearance preliminary medical examinations identified suffocation and fractured neck as a possible cause of death.When her sister went to the defendant’s home the following morning to ask what had happened he was covered in blood from self-inflicted wounds and initially refused to answer questions, according to the prosecution.
Following Hollie's death there was an outpouring of grief among the community in West Belfast with the young mum being described as a "one of a kind" friend who would have brightened up any room with her smile.
