The video shows a man who was wearing distinctive clothing and carrying a speaker shooting the two victims — who can both be heard calling the shooter “Mario” — at point-blank range before riding away on an electric scooter or bicycle, Bull wrote in the charging documents. Following various leads, officers identified Jackson as a possible suspect and reviewed video footage from his workplace, a hotel about a half-mile from where the shooting occurred, according to the charging documents. The video showed Jackson wearing similar clothing to the shooter from the apartment building footage, and also carrying a distinctive speaker and riding an electric scooter or bike, according to the charges. On Saturday, detectives interviewed Jackson, who said he had been driving in the area of the shooting Friday but denied knowing the victims and denied any involvement, according to the charges.In his room, officers found the same brand and caliber of ammunition as the casings found at the shooting scene, and the hotel’s owner said Jackson and the two victims had all known each other, Bull wrote in the charging documents.In a separate homicide investigation, officers are investigating the death of a woman who was stabbed in the 2000 block of Fiddlehead Place, in an area near C Street and West 20th Avenue. Officers responded around 6:51 p.m. Friday and found the woman “with trauma to the upper body,” police said inMedics took the woman to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. The police department did not identify the woman in their update. “Detectives have contacted everyone believed to be involved in this investigation and are not looking for anyone at this time,” police said.
