JUST IN: A man was charged with the murder of his father in Southeast Austin.
Austin police said on April 13, around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a call in the 10900 block of Mickelson Drive.
When officers arrived, 31-year-old Jesse Anthony Rivera came out of the house and surrendered without incident. Officers entered the house and found his father, Jesse Rivera Jr., suffering from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds, and blunt-force trauma to the head. The victim died on the scene.Investigators believe Jesse Anthony Rivera struck his father in the head with a blunt object several times, then stabbed him, causing his death.Anyone with any information should contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS.
