A 62-year-old man has been charged in the weekend shooting death of a locksmith during a dispute over money at a Birmingham gas station.
who leaves behind a 12-year-old son.The ordeal began Saturday evening when Puidokas performed a key service for Murray at one location.
The victim’s mother, Michelle Puidokas, said her god son was on the phone with Puidokas throughout the job, the argument and the shooting. Murray remained on the scene and called 911. He was taken to police headquarters where he was questioned by detectives and then booked into the Birmingham City Jail on a 48-hour hold.
“It was pretty senseless,’’ said Officer Truman Fitzgerald said. “From the evidence I’ve observed, it went from zero to 100 quickly.”Darnkell Michael Puidokas, a Birmingham locksmith, was shot to death Feb. 11, 2023, in a dispute with a customer over money. His sister, Jasmine Puidokas, could barely talk through her tears. “I loved him, I appreciated everything he did for me, and I’m going to miss him,’’ she said.
