Austin Siebert is accused of using books, including 'Hillbilly Elegy' by J.D. Vance, to conceal and distribute controlled substances into Grafton Prison. Authorities discovered narcotics sprayed onto the books and uncovered coded messages in phone calls between Siebert and an inmate. A search of Siebert's home revealed additional evidence including a book soaked in narcotics, suspected drugs, and tools used for binding.
GRAFTON, Ohio - A man is charged for allegedly using books to distribute controlled substances. One of the books used in the suspected drug smuggling is “Hillbilly Elegy” written by Vice President JD Vance.
Troopers were called to the Grafton Prison on December 3, 2024 after packages with suspected narcotics were seized, according to the complaint.
