A man has been charged after a police pursuit ended when his car crashed and rolled at Guildford in Sydney's south west. The driver, who allegedly reached speeds of up to 140km/h, attempted to flee the scene before a civilian restrained him. 9News MORE:
A man has been charged after he allegedly reached speeds up to 140km/h on a residential street in Guildford.
"The vehicle was pursued into Chiswick Road where it will be alleged that the vehicle reached speeds of up to 140km/h.""A short time later the vehicle collided with a retaining wall at the intersection of Clyde Street and Chiswick Road before crashing into a parked car and then coming to rest on its side," police said.
The 37-year-old driver tried to run away but was restrained by a resident, who was allegedly assaulted by the man.The incident began when officers tried to stop a car after it drove through a red light at the intersection.Officers tested the offender, who allegedly returned positive results for an "illicit substance".
