At about 1:40 p.m. Friday, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of Denune Avenue, Columbus police said. Responding officers found a 32-year-old victim who'd suffered an apparent gunshot wound.
A man believed to be homeless has been charged with fatally shooting another man Friday during an argument in North Linden, Columbus police said.
At about 1:40 p.m. Friday, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of Denune Avenue,. Responding officers found 32-year-old Rapheal Jones suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Columbus Division of Fire medics transported Jones, whom records indicate resided in Gahanna, to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased at 2:46 p.m.
Jones and Sir Robert Martin-Sydnor, 28, were arguing when Martin-Sydnor pulled out a handgun and shot Jones, police said. Martin-Sydnor ran from the scene, possibility in possession of a backpack that belonged to Jones.Homicide detectives obtained a warrant charging Martin-Sydnor with murder in connection with Jones’ death.
