The incident happened on Saturday night.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, for treatment.
A police spokesperson said:"Around 6.50pm, officers were called to a report of a man having been injured during a disturbance in Craighead Way, Barrhead.The victim has not been named by police and no details about his injuries have been released. Anyone who has information that can help the police with their investigation is asked to call officers on 101, quoting incident number 3210 of August 5.
