Man arrested on suspicion of shooting into neighbor's house in Lemon Grove [Breaking]
A man was arrested early Monday on suspicion of firing a gunshot that pierced his neighbor’s house in Lemon Grove, according to the county Sheriff’s Department.
The incident happened shortly after 4 a.m. on Mount Vernon Street near Washington Street. No one was injured. The suspected shooter’s neighbor called authorities and reported a bullet had punctured a window of the home, sheriff’s Lt. Pat McEvoy told OnScene TV. The neighbor said the shot was fired from a nearby residence.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived and tried to make contact with the suspected shooter, but neither he nor another adult who was inside the house complied initially. Eventually, after about an hour and a half, he came outside and surrendered to the deputies, according to the Sheriff’s Department. A woman also came out of the home and surrendered to authorities. She was not arrested. A child was sleeping in the suspect’s house, McEvoy said.
