of Muhlaysia Booker, a transgender woman who was found dead in Dallas in 2019, has pleaded guilty and will receive a sentence of 48 years in prison, officials said Monday.
In May 2019, Booker was found lying facedown in the street in the 7200 block of Valley Glen Drive around 6:44 a.m. Police said she was killed.Booker had no identification nor her cellphone when her body was found. Investigators searched for her phone records and found that Booker's phone was still active several hours after her death, an arrest warrant said.
Dallas police arrested 29-year-old Edward Thomas for his alleged role in the assault of Booker. Someone offered to pay Thomas $200 to carry out the attack, according to an arrest affidavit. Lyles was also connected to the death of Grant, who was found shot in the head on May 22, 2019, in a parking lot in the 7800 block of McCallum Boulevard. She remained in grave condition until she died days later.
Cichocki sent a Facebook message saying,"Here," six minutes before he was found shot in the parking lot, an arrest warrant shows.
