Traffic on the Bayway at a standstill the morning of Wednesday, January 29th -- as the investigation got underway. The evidence pointing to homicide. We’re now learning -- 22-year-old Zachri Frazer -- was arrested the following day in Florida. According to ALEA’s State Bureau of investigations -- Frazer -- who is from Kingston, Jamaica -- had recently been living in Mobile. Investigators say Frazer took Neece’s vehicle from the scene and traveled to Florida -- where deputies in Marion County near Ocala -- spotted the vehicle and tried to pull him over. Frazer allegedly took deputies on a brief chase before being taken into custody. Marion County is familiar with Frazer -- he was arrested and convicted for criminal mischief in November 2023 -- security cameras showing him destroy a gate and dent the apartment door of his ex-girlfriend. He was placed on probation for 12-months in that case. His criminal history -- also includes an arrest in Polk County Florida -- the month before in October 2023 -- for “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.” A closer look -- says Frazer pulled a knife on the victim after an argument over a cell phone. In July 2024 -- another 12-month probation under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections.
