JOHOR BARU: A 24-year-old man has been detained to assist an investigation into a brawl in front of a shop in Taman Desa Skudai here.
Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the incident occurred last Thursday at 8.10pm following a miscommunication between the suspect and a 23-year-old man.
He said acting on a police report lodged at 8.39pm the same night, police arrested a suspect and seized a weapon he had used in the brawl. “The victim suffered injuries on his stomach, legs and arms, and is being treated at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital,” he said in a statement here on Sunday . ACP Balveer said the suspect has been remanded for four days to help investigate the case under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing harm.
A video clip, believed to be a recording of the incident, has been circulating on social media. It shows a group of men shouting and attacking another man in front of a shop.
