Joseph Jackson remains in custody at the Dallas County jail on a $1 million bond for a murder charge, records show. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.Officers responded the morning of Oct. 16 to Jackson’s home he shared with 31-year-old Fredrick Grant in the 2300 block of Pine Street and found Grant with a gunshot wound to his head, according to the affidavit.
He was initially booked on an aggravated assault charge but the charge was elevated to murder after Grant died in the hospital a day later.A bullet matching the caliber of the gun used in the shooting was found in the porch area but the firearm had not been recovered as of last week, when the arrest-warrant affidavit was written.
