Police arrested Jack Baird for abuse of a corpse in connection with the disappearance of Ryan Staggs, who vanished in January 2022. A prosecutor indicated that murder charges may be filed.
Someone has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Ryan Staggs, who has been missing since January 2022. According to court documents, neighbors reported hearing Staggs screaming at his house on January 29, 2022. Jack Baird was arrested last Friday for abuse of a corpse in the second degree. During Baird's court hearing, a prosecutor stated that the investigation is ongoing and there is a potential for second-degree murder charges to be presented to the grand jury next week.
The probable cause document alleges that someone tipped off police claiming Baird killed Staggs and buried him in his backyard using a backhoe. A neighbor reportedly heard the backhoe running around the time of Staggs' disappearance and subsequently discovered a muddy area that appeared to be a recently dug grave
