Parachutists jumped from World War II-era planes into now peaceful Normandy to kick off a week of ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Soldiers from across the United States, Britain, Canada and other Allied nations waded ashore through hails of fire on five beaches on June 6, 1944.
LEVEL PLAINS-A man charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy of a juvenile in Level Plains is in custody after alluding authorities for two days, according to Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum.Bynum said that on Friday Ozark-Dale County E911 received a call from a resident in Level Plains who described witnessing sexual contact involving Lecuyer and a young child — under the age of 10 — in the back of Lecuyer’s vehicle.
People are also reading… DCSO investigators responded to Auburn’s call about the vehicle and with assistance of Auburn detectives and Lee County deputies, Lecuyer’s vehicle was processed and returned to Dale County. A search was conducted for the suspect, but he was not located at that time, Bynum said.
Bynum said Dale County deputies went to Macon County to take custody of Lecuyer and return him to Dale County Jail.
