Police said the suspect had a similar description in both attacks
SAN ANTONIO — Two people were stabbed in separate and seemingly random attacks on the South Side that occurred about three blocks and 10 minutes apart during the predawn hours on Monday.
Police arrested a yet-to-be named suspect — described as a 23-year-old Hispanic male — following the second attack, though a San Antonio Police Department official could not confirm that the same person is suspected of both attacks. The official, however, said that the man arrested fit the description of the perpetrator in both stabbings and that the arrested person was booked on two counts of aggravated assault.
Officers were first called to a scene in the 4100 block of South New Braunfels Avenue at about 3:15 a.m. A 62-year-old man there said an unknown suspect ran up behind him and stabbed him for no reason. He was in a parking lot outside an H-E-B store when it happened.After the attacker fled on foot, another stabbing occurred within the next 10 minutes in the 4400 block of South New Braunfels Avenue.
The suspect again ran from the scene. Officers found him in the 1900 block off Goliad Road, where he was taken into custody.
