Driver arrested after shooting at cops, 4-hour standoff, police say
A New Jersey man shot at police during an attempted traffic stop in Camden last week and then locked himself in a garage in a four-hour standoff that ended in his arrest, authorities said.officers tried to pull over on the 2700 block of North Saunders Street at about 2:45 p.m, Wednesday, the department said in a statement.
As police tried to stop the car, Simpson got out and shot at police, officials said. Simpson and a second man in the car then ran to a garage on the 2600 block of High Street, authorities said. While police quickly arrested the second man, Simpson barricaded himself in the garage, Camden County Police said.
