A 24-year-old Detroit man, Caesar Cooper, was arrested and faces multiple felony charges after allegedly leading police on two high-speed chases in stolen vehicles. Recovered vehicles include a BMW 760i, a BMW 740i, and a Ram 1500 RHO. Cooper was out on bond for previous charges and is now facing charges of fleeing and eluding and receiving and concealing stolen vehicles, with the possibility of life in prison due to being a habitual offender.
A man is behind bars and facing multiple felony charges after police say he led them on two seperate high-speed chase s within a three-day span. According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Caesar Cooper, from Detroit, was arrested after a chase in a stolen car that reached speeds of 120 miles per hour.
Cooper was arrested on March 5 after an investigation revealed that he allegedly led police on multiple high-speed chases while he was behind the wheel of cars that had been reported stolen. Police recovered a 2023 BMW 760i valued at roughly $100,000 that was reported stolen from the Manheim Auto Auction, New Jersey as part of the investigation; 2025 BMW 740i valued at $101,000 that had been reported stolen from the Manheim Auto Auction, Detroit was also recovered. The third vehicle recovered was a brand-new Ram 1500 RHO with an MSRP of $96,000. The Ram was reportedly stolen from the Stellantis Jefferson North Assembly Plant . At the time of his arrest, Cooper was out on bond for charges in two other counties: conducting criminal enterprise and unlawfully driving away an automobile in Oakland County, and receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle in Wayne County. He was arraigned on the newest charges on March 6. There are two new cases against him: in the first case he is charged with fleeing and eluding 3rd degree, and receiving and concealing stolen motor vehicle, which are both felonies; in the second case, he is charged with fleeing and eluding 3rd degree. Cooper has also tagged as a habitual offender—fourth offender, according to authorities. This applies to a person who has already been convicted of three or more felonies. In the state of Michigan, a fourth offender charge allows for increased jail time, including life in prison. Bond has been set at $250,000 with a GPS steel cuff tether required upon release. As of the publication of this report, Cooper remains in the Macomb County Jail.
