Dalvin White, a 30-year-old Montgomery man, was arrested in a Millbrook courtroom after becoming irate during a traffic violation hearing. White resisted removal, allegedly spat on an officer, and was found guilty of contempt of court. He faces additional charges and will be served warrants after his current jail sentence. One officer suffered a minor injury.

Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson says 30-year-old Dalvin White was in court on a traffic violation charge when he became irate. Johnson says White resisted efforts to remove him from the courtroom and is accused of spitting on an officer.

Millbrook Municipal Judge Bradley Ekdahl was found guilty of contempt of court and was sentenced to five days in the Elmore County Jail. Johnson says White will face additional charges of assault with bodily fluids, assault in the third degree and resisting arrest. He says warrants have been secured against White and they will be served upon him after the completion of his current jail sentence for contempt of court, at which time he will have an opportunity to make bond and be assigned a court date. Johnson said he spoke with White prior to him being taken to the Elmore County Jail. He said that while he understands someone being upset about an unfavorable outcome in a court case, there is absolutely never an excuse to behave in this manner, especially in a courtroom full of people, to include law enforcement and court officials, all of whom witnessed this outburst and subsequent arrest as the events unfolded. Johnson said one officer suffered a minor injury to his hand, while another was subjected to being spit upon, which he said is about the most degrading and disrespectful thing that you do to another human being. He said he wants to commend officers for their restraint and professionalism during their response to this incident.
