A woman and man in their 40s were shot Saturday in what is being investigated as an attempted murder-suicide, according to Houston Police Department officials.
Officers responded to a report of a crash at 5500 Gulf Freeway around 3:30 p.m. and found a woman, 40, in a vehicle’s passenger seat, shot in the head. In the driver’s seat, a man, 44, had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no outward signs of bullets entering the car. A weapon and casings were found inside the vehicle, according to police officials.This is one of two suspected murder-suicides reported this weekend in Houston. A 23-year-old woman and her ex-boyfriend, 22,
