IPOH: A contractor and his wife were arrested after police found drugs worth more than RM134,000 at their house in Kampung Selamat, Sitiawan.
Perak Narcotics chief Asst Comm Lee King Chuan said the contractor, in his 40s, was first arrested near his home where he was found to possess about 75g of methamphetamine on Feb 24 at around 3.30pm.“We found and seized some 2.178kg of methamphetamine, 254g heroin, 44 ecstasy pills and 155g of powdery substances believed to be drugs, ” he told reporters at the state police contingent headquarters here on Wednesday .
ACP Lee said the police also seized two cars belonging to the man and some RM44,000 during the operation."We believe both the contractor and his wife, who are locals, were repacking and distributing the drugs for local customers," he said.“The drugs could be distributed to at least 12,000 users, ” he said, adding that both suspects were also tested positive for drugs.
